At the beginning of the academic year, fresher students are made acquainted to GSS BCA campus through an orientation programme "Incite". This includes introductory sessions, giving them an overview of the college life; the rules and regulations mandated for each student in the college. This is an essential period at the beginning of the college session, which allows the students to get settled in the new environment.
GSS BCA staff along with volunteer student coordinators set a model for introductory orientation programme that includes academic as well as social and fun activities. Social involvement will make sure that students don’t lose interest in the college life and hence are regular with their attendance.
This activity sets a lasting impression for new students and their families. The main purpose of the orientation session is to bridge the gap between the professors and the students, ensuring a smooth communication between the two.
Techspectra is the In-house IT fest conducted by GSS BCA every odd semester. This fest aims to bring up the versatility between the teams and test their calibre in various events. It also brings out the organising skills, team spirit, leadership skills and communication skills. The students are encouraged to either participate as an organiser or a team participant.
The “Techspectra-2019” is organised with the theme of “Cyber Security” with a tagline of “Think before you Click”. We had formed a team of 45 student organisers and 18 teams with 15 students in each team. The various events conducted were “Codifica” a coding event, “Cybergraphic” a designing event, “Aircrack” a Quiz event, “Wireshark” a communication event, “Scavenger Hunt” a Treasure Hunt event followed by Cultural program. Winner of each event and general championship was declared in the valedictory function.
At the end of academic year a farewell programme "ADIOS" is organized for the passing-out students. The passing-out students share what they have learned, accomplished, and acknowledge. They share their appreciation and feelings to one another.
Junior students organize funny award ceremony wherein passing out students are awarded with a unique award that they will cherish and remember. On this day each student is given a group photo as a memento. This function is remembered through out their life as one of the best memories of their college days.
Every year the annual cultural programme 'Yuvtarang' is celebrated to exhibit student's talent in cultural activities like singing, dancing, mimicry, skit etc. Students get an opportunity to present their talents in music, dance, drama, etc. and the remaining students learn about backstage work, team work and the importance of coordination. The motivated students showcase theme oriented performance.
